Have you had your 10 a day?
Ten minutes of meditation every day can make a huge difference to our lives. We become more spacious and open-hearted, discovering joy and equanimity through the ordinary ups and downs of life. Meditation can become life-as-practice.
This weekly meditation group is open to anyone who wishes to meditate. You are welcome to join the group whether you have no experience of meditation, or have an established sitting practice. It is always supportive to meditate with other practitioners and helps us maintain our meditation practice. Attend regularly or occasionally - you will always be welcomed.
The group is led by two ordained practitioners: Nor’dzin Pamo and ’ö-Dzin Tridral - a married couple with over 30 years of meditation experience. The hour and a half session will be broken up into several short periods of practice and will include silent sitting, guided meditation, yogic song, and some brief teaching. Occasionally an introduction to other aspects of practice may be offered such as a demonstration of Tibetan yoga and practice-related craft.
Chairs and cushions are provided for sitting. Please wear comfortable clothing.
A donation is requested of £5.00 per evening.

March Newsletter
We hope you all enjoyed a splendid St David's Day on March 1st. We joined the parade as part of the Interfaith Council of Wales group, and enjoyed strolling through Cardiff in the fine morning sunshine. Lots of people lined the streets to watch the parade.
March has heralded a few organisational changes at Aro Ling Cardiff. In May we will be launching a series of Saturday morning 'tasters', and so have started opening on a Saturday morning from this month to accustom people to that as a possibility. Our new opening days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (approximately 10 - 5) and Saturday morning (approximately 10 - 1). We are no longer scheduling particular times for drop-in meditation. We are here and available whenever we are open. If you would like to practice meditation early in the morning, please phone us in advance and we will ensure that someone is there to meditate with you.
Please be patient with us if we are closed at a time that we would normally be open. Nor'dzin staffs Aro Ling Cardiff as a volunteer and has other responsibilities that sometimes mean she cannot be at the centre - such as being Buddhist Chaplain for Cardiff and the Vale Health Board. We are teaching on Vajra Romance in Vienna the weekend of 7 - 9 March and so Aro Ling will be closed during the day from Friday 7th until Thursday 12th. The meditation group will still be running on Tuesday 11th, hosted by Ngakma Ta'tsal Wangmo. Do come along.
Also new for March is the Aro Ling Cardiff reference library. It is small at the moment, but will grow over the next few months. Please call in to browse the books. Please call in any time. You are most welcome to use Aro Ling for private practice, as a quiet space, to study, or for a chat and a cup of tea. If you wish Nor'dzin to lead you in meditation practice, that will usually be possible. Don't forget that we also offer therapy: Reflexology, Tibetan Energy Balancing, and Relaxation and Self-healing.
We hope to see you at Aro Ling Cardiff very soon.

Embracing Emotions - 6 week course - starts Thursday 6th March
Sometimes our emotional landscape can feel uncomfortable and out of control, causing us to harm ourselves and others. The Vajrayana teachings on the elements offers a pathway through this landscape, helping us to understand and transform difficult emotions into vivid opportunities for realisation.
Earth, water, fire, air and space make up our elemental nature. Our physical, emotional and intellectual being can be recognised through discovering our elemental nature. This course will offer insight into the elements and practical ways of understanding how we function in terms of our basic elemental being. The course will include short periods of meditation practice as the means to awaken spaciousness of mind through which we can become aware of our elemental nature.
On the final evening an empowerment will be offered into the practice of Ögyen Rigna – the awareness-being who symbolises the manifestation of the elements.
Gégen Nor’dzin Pamo and Gégen ’ö-Dzin Tridral are authorised to teach and give transmission of these Vajrayana teachings. They present the teachings in ordinary and relevant language, drawing from everyday examples of the world we actually inhabit. No previous experience of Buddhism or Vajrayana is required.
